L’Oréal to Invest $383 Million in India Beauty Tech Hub, Creating 2,000 AI Jobs

HYDERABAD, India | Jan 21 (GeokHub) French cosmetics leader L’Oréal has announced plans to establish a global beauty technology hub in Hyderabad, committing more than 35 billion rupees ($383 million) as it deepens its investment in artificial intelligence–driven innovation.
The new center, to be developed in southern India’s fast-growing technology corridor, will serve as a global base for AI-powered beauty research, digital product development, and advanced consumer solutions, the company said on Wednesday.
L’Oréal expects the hub to generate around 2,000 high-skilled technology jobs by 2030, accelerating the rollout of personalized beauty tools, smart diagnostics, and next-generation digital platforms across its global brands.
The agreement was formalized at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where L’Oréal CEO Nicolas Hieronimus and officials from the Telangana state government signed the partnership.
India’s Growing Role in Global Tech Strategy
Telangana, home to major global technology companies, has rapidly emerged as one of India’s most attractive destinations for international investment, offering a deep talent pool and strong digital infrastructure.
L’Oréal’s expansion reflects broader momentum in India–France economic relations, as bilateral trade between the two countries reached $15 billion in 2024. Leaders from both nations have intensified cooperation across technology, manufacturing, and innovation.
India and France are also working to modernize their tax treaty, aligning it with global transparency standards — a move seen as supportive of long-term foreign investment.
For L’Oréal, the Hyderabad hub strengthens its push to embed artificial intelligence across product development and consumer engagement, positioning India as a central pillar of its global digital transformation.
