AMSTERDAM — Dec 3 (GeokHub) Nebius, the Netherlands-based data-center and AI-cloud operator, is stepping up its expansion plans after securing massive contracts with Microsoft and Meta. The firm says these deals will help it serve both traditional industries and emerging AI-native companies — boosting its profile in a fast-growing but competitive market.
The contracts include a multi-billion-dollar agreement with Microsoft and a major AI infrastructure supply deal with Meta. These agreements have driven a surge in investor confidence, pushing Nebius’s stock up sharply this year and bringing its market value above the $25 billion mark.
Nebius aims to use this momentum to expand beyond purely AI-native clients. The company is looking to attract legacy firms in sectors such as manufacturing, banking, retail and pharmaceuticals — in part by offering access to powerful GPU infrastructure and specialized AI cloud services that many older companies lack internally.
As Europe’s biggest “neocloud” operator, Nebius provides both the hardware (GPUs, data-center capacity) and software stack required to run advanced AI workloads — putting it in direct competition with large global cloud providers. To meet growing demand, the company plans to build out more power capacity and scale its data-center footprint across the U.S. and Europe over the next two years.
Nebius’s leadership says the firm is focused less on short-term revenue and more on long-term profitability and high-margin services. With its recent deals and expansion plan, Nebius positions itself as a major infrastructure backbone for businesses — both tech-native startups and established industrial players — seeking to adopt AI at scale.
