
Vodafone to Acquire German Cloud Specialist Skaylink for €175 Million

Telecommunications giant Vodafone announced it will acquire German cloud and digital transformation specialist Skaylink for approximately €175 million (roughly $204 million) in a strategic move aimed at bolstering its position in enterprise cloud services and AI-enabled solutions. Skaylink, headquartered in Munich and employing over 500 professionals across Germany and Europe, specializes in managing cloud deployments on major platforms—such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services—as well as delivering AI integration services for corporate clients. The acquisition aligns with Vodafone’s ambition to accelerate growth in business-to-business (B2B) technology and digital solutions, extending beyond its traditional telecom footprint.
By bringing Skaylink under its umbrella, Vodafone aims to enhance its portfolio of managed cloud services, tap into high-growth sectors, and provide bundled connectivity, cloud, and AI capabilities to enterprise clients across Europe. Analysts suggest the deal signals Vodafone’s intention to pivot further away from pure infrastructure toward value-added digital services—a move viewed as essential in an increasingly competitive European telecom landscape.
For Vodafone, acquiring Skaylink is an opportunity to deepen its enterprise credentials and accelerate its digital transformation strategy.
