Feb 6, 2026 (GeokHub) - Goldman Sachs is developing artificial intelligence agents in partnership with AI startup Anthropic as part of a broader effort to automate a growing range of internal banking operations, the Wall Street firm confirmed on Friday.
The collaboration has been underway for roughly six months, with Anthropic engineers working closely alongside Goldman teams to design autonomous AI agents capable of handling tasks such as trade and transaction accounting, client due diligence, and onboarding processes.
The initiative reflects increasing interest among major financial institutions in using advanced AI systems not just for analysis, but for executing complex operational workflows traditionally performed by human staff. Goldman executives believe the technology could significantly shorten processing times and improve efficiency across core business functions.
The agents are being built using Anthropic’s Claude AI models, which are designed to perform structured, multi-step tasks. While development remains in its early stages, the bank expects the tools to play a meaningful role in streamlining operations once deployed.
Anthropic has been expanding its focus on enterprise use cases, offering AI products aimed at automating computer-based tasks for white-collar workers. Goldman’s participation marks one of the most prominent early adopters of this technology within global banking.
Goldman Sachs said it plans to roll out the AI agents in the near future, though no specific launch timeline has been disclosed.
