Veteran NBA big man Al Horford has verbally committed to a multiyear contract with the Golden State Warriors, his agent Jason Glushon confirms. At 39, Horford is expected to assume the role of starting center for the Warriors as they head into the 2025-26 season.
He spent seven of the past nine seasons with the Boston Celtics, helping them win the 2024 NBA title. Known for his floor spacing ability, reliable defense, and leadership, Horford brings experience to a Warriors lineup that includes Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler III, and Draymond Green.
The contract’s final financial terms aren’t yet finalized — they’re awaiting completion of negotiations involving restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga. Despite that, all signs point to Horford joining Golden State to help bolster their frontcourt this season.
