PARIS, Dec 26 — Struggling French technology company Atos said on Friday it has signed a binding agreement to sell its Latin American operations to Brazilian data and analytics firm Semantix, marking another key step in its ongoing restructuring effort.

Atos said the business being sold employs around 2,800 people across Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru and Uruguay. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, but the company expects the deal to close in the coming months, subject to customary conditions.

Part of a Wider Turnaround Plan

The divestment comes as Atos continues to overhaul its balance sheet after severe financial distress in 2024, which nearly led to the company’s collapse. Earlier this year, the group completed a sweeping financial restructuring that cut €2.1 billion in debt, with banks and bondholders emerging as its new core shareholders.

Asset sales now sit at the centre of Atos’ recovery strategy, as management seeks to stabilise operations, restore confidence and refocus the business on its most viable markets.

Once considered a flagship of Europe’s IT services sector, Atos has faced years of mounting debt, weak cash flow and strategic missteps, forcing it into a dramatic reset.
