Warsaw, Nov. 25, 2025 — Poland’s antitrust authority, UOKiK, has launched an investigation into Apple’s privacy policies, focusing on the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. The regulator is examining whether the policy gives Apple an unfair advantage in digital advertising by restricting third-party apps from collecting user data while promoting its own advertising services.

UOKiK’s president, Tomasz Chrostny, said the ATT rules may have misled users regarding control over their data and could have strengthened Apple’s dominance in the ad market. If the investigation finds Apple in violation of competition laws, the company could face fines of up to 10 percent of its annual revenue in Poland.

Apple has defended ATT, stating the framework was designed to enhance user control over personal data. The company also said it would cooperate with authorities during the investigation while maintaining its privacy standards.
