Trump Condemns Putin as "Absolutely Crazy" Amid Russia's Largest Aerial Assault on Ukraine

1.0x

In a significant shift from his previous stance, U.S. President Donald Trump has labeled Russian President Vladimir Putin as "absolutely crazy" following Russia's most extensive drone and missile attacks on Ukraine since the war began. The assault involved the launch of 367 drones and missiles across Ukrainian regions, resulting in at least 13 civilian deaths, including children, and numerous injuries.

Trump's remarks, made on his social media platform Truth Social, reflect a notable change in his rhetoric towards Putin, whom he had previously described as a leader he "always got along with." He expressed deep concern over Putin's recent actions, stating, "Something has happened to him. He has gone absolutely CRAZY!"

The Kremlin responded to Trump's comments by attributing them to "emotional overload," suggesting that the U.S. president's reaction was influenced by heightened emotions rather than a rational assessment of the situation.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attacks, asserting that they lacked military logic and were politically motivated. He called for stronger international pressure against Russia, emphasizing that the sense of impunity fuels further aggression.

In response to the escalating conflict, the U.S., U.K., and other allies have agreed to lift all remaining range restrictions on weapons delivered to Ukraine, allowing Ukrainian forces to target military positions deep inside Russia. This significant policy shift reflects a collective response to Russia's intensified aggression.

As the war enters its third year, the international community watches closely to see whether President Trump's strong rhetoric will translate into concrete policy actions to address the escalating situation in Ukraine.
