Afrobeats superstar Davido has publicly accused security personnel at the popular Hi Ibiza nightclub in Spain of confronting and harassing him and his entourage during a visit over the weekend.
In a series of posts shared on social media, the Nigerian singer claimed that he and his team were subjected to “unprovoked aggression” by venue security, calling the incident “disrespectful” and “unacceptable.”
“I’ve never felt so disrespected in my life,” Davido wrote. “We came to have a good time, and instead we were treated like we didn’t belong.”
While the artist did not specify the cause of the altercation, eyewitnesses at the scene reported a tense standoff near a VIP entrance, with members of Davido’s team reportedly being denied access despite prior arrangements.
Clips circulating online appear to show security personnel blocking entry as heated words are exchanged. Fans expressed outrage across social media, accusing the club of racial profiling and disrespect toward African artists.
Hi Ibiza has yet to release an official statement in response to the allegations.
The incident has sparked wider debate about how Black celebrities and international stars are treated in European nightlife venues.
“It’s 2025. You would think this kind of discrimination would be behind us,” a fan tweeted. “Davido deserves better.”
Davido is currently on his Europe summer tour, with several shows scheduled in Spain, Portugal, and the U.K. Despite the incident, he assured fans that the tour would continue as planned.
