Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has earned a significant milestone with his fourth studio album Timeless, which has officially received Silver certification in the United Kingdom.

The certification, issued by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), confirms that the album has sold over 60,000 units in the UK, combining physical sales, digital downloads, and streaming equivalents.

Released in March 2023, Timeless marked a defining chapter in Davido’s career. The album, praised for its fusion of Afrobeats, Amapiano, and global pop, featured a roster of international and African talents including Skepta, Fave, Angelique Kidjo, Asake, and The Cavemen.

It quickly topped charts across Africa, debuted in the Top 10 UK Albums Chart, and set streaming records for a Nigerian album, including over 14 million Spotify streams within its first week.

Industry Impact

The Silver certification cements Timeless as a global Afrobeats success story, joining a small group of Nigerian albums to receive UK honors.

“This milestone proves that African music is no longer rising — it’s here to stay,” said a music executive close to Davido’s team.

The album’s standout track, Unavailable featuring Musa Keys, also gained international acclaim and recently secured its own certification milestone in the UK.

Continuing Momentum

Following the success of Timeless, Davido embarked on a global tour that included sold-out shows in London, Toronto, Paris, and New York. His performance at the O2 Arena drew widespread praise for its production and cultural impact.

With the Afrobeats wave expanding globally, Davido’s latest achievement reaffirms his position as one of Africa’s most influential music exports.
