MTG, Tucker Carlson Urge Trump to Keep U.S. Out of Iran Conflict, Revealing MAGA Rift
A split is emerging within the MAGA movement as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and conservative commentator Tucker Carlson publicly urge former President Donald Trump to stay out of a potential war with Iran, exposing deep internal divisions over U.S. foreign policy.
Speaking on his podcast, Tucker Carlson warned that American intervention in the Israel-Iran conflict would contradict the "America First" principles that powered Trump’s political rise.
“You're not going to convince me that the Iranian people are my enemy,” Carlson said. He added that war with Iran could drag the U.S. into a costly conflict with no clear national benefit.
Echoing his sentiment, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene posted on social media, stating:
“Foreign wars kill innocent people and waste American tax dollars. That’s not what we voted for in 2024. America First means staying out of it.”
Trump, however, responded strongly on Truth Social, calling Carlson “kooky” and reaffirming his hardline stance on Tehran’s nuclear ambitions:
“IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!”
The disagreement has triggered broader discussions within conservative circles, with figures like Charlie Kirk warning that further involvement in the Middle East could fracture MAGA unity. Meanwhile, hawkish Republicans such as Senator Lindsey Graham have continued to push for robust military support for Israel.
Trump, who left the recent G7 summit early amid rising tensions, has yet to commit to direct U.S. military involvement but has issued multiple warnings to Iran in recent days.
The divide highlights ongoing ideological tensions within the MAGA base—between nationalist non-interventionists and traditional GOP hawks—at a critical time as Trump prepares for the 2025 Republican National Convention.
