DUBAI, Feb. 28 (GeokHub) — Several Gulf Arab states reported Iranian missile attacks on Saturday following Tehran’s pledge to retaliate against recent U.S.-Israeli strikes, widening the conflict across the Middle East.

State media in the United Arab Emirates said one person was killed in Abu Dhabi, though details were not immediately released. Loud explosions were reported across parts of the UAE capital, with residents receiving emergency phone alerts instructing them to seek shelter and avoid windows due to missile threats.

Gulf States Intercept Missiles

Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, and Jordan — all of which host U.S. military forces — said their air defense systems intercepted incoming Iranian missiles.

Bahrain confirmed that an attack occurred within its territory and stated that a service center linked to the U.S. Fifth Fleet was struck. Witness footage showed smoke rising near the island nation’s coastline as sirens sounded.

In Qatar, military officials said incoming missiles were intercepted before reaching their targets following joint coordination efforts. Multiple blasts were heard in Doha as residents received shelter-in-place alerts.

Jordan reported shooting down two Iranian ballistic missiles, while Kuwait said its armed forces responded to threats in its airspace.

In Abu Dhabi, witnesses described multiple explosions in rapid succession, with fighter jets seen flying over parts of the city. Despite early signs of calm in some areas, public activity decreased after government alerts were issued.

Air travel across the region was disrupted, with several global airlines suspending flights over Middle Eastern airspace. Flight tracking data showed significant rerouting, particularly around Iranian territory.
