FC Barcelona has officially handed teenage forward Lamine Yamal the club’s legendary No. 10 shirt, previously worn by Lionel Messi, Ronaldinho, and Rivaldo.

The announcement came alongside the signing of a new contract that will keep Yamal at the club until 2031. Club president Joan Laporta was present during the brief ceremony held at Camp Nou.

Yamal, who recently turned 18, made it clear he plans to carve his own path.

“Messi made his path; I will make mine,” he said.

With Ansu Fati currently on loan and the No. 10 shirt vacant, Barcelona has placed immense faith in the young winger, who already boasts over 100 senior appearances and was instrumental in last season’s domestic treble.

The No. 10 shirt holds historic significance at the Catalan club and comes with heavy expectations. Still, Yamal appears ready for the challenge, stating his next goals are to win the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA World Cup.

Yamal’s shirt is now available for fans worldwide, marking the beginning of what Barcelona hopes will be a new golden era led by its homegrown star.
