Saudi Arabia came from behind to beat Indonesia 3–2 in a crucial World Cup qualifying clash in Group B, courtesy of a double from Feras Al-Brikan.
Indonesia struck first via a penalty converted by Kevin Diks in the 11th minute, but Saleh Abu Al-Shamat equalized just six minutes later. Before half-time, Al-Brikan scored from the spot to give his side the lead, and he sealed the victory in the 62nd minute with a sharp rebound finish. Indonesia pulled one back late via another penalty from Diks, and a red card to Saudi’s Mohammed Kanno added late tension, but Saudi Arabia held on under pressure.
Coach Hervé Renard admitted the team’s start was poor, noting missed opportunities to put the match beyond doubt, but praised their resilience to withstand the late onslaught. The win edges Saudi Arabia closer to clinching top spot in the group and securing direct qualification to the 2026 World Cup.
