As of October 8, 2025, the line-up for the 2026 World Cup is beginning to take shape, with several teams securing their spots early. The tournament will be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada, who automatically qualify as hosts.
Here are the national teams that have already booked their places in the 2026 finals:
Co-hosts (automatic qualification): United States | Mexico | Canada
Other qualified nations so far:
Japan | New Zealand | Iran | Argentina | Uzbekistan | Jordan | South Korea | Australia | Brazil | Ecuador | Uruguay | Colombia | Paraguay | Morocco | Tunisia | Egypt
These teams span all confederations: AFC (Asia), CONMEBOL (South America), CAF (Africa), and OFC (Oceania). The European (UEFA) teams have yet to claim direct spots; qualification is still ongoing through the remaining matchdays.
The expanded 48-team format of the 2026 World Cup allows more opportunities for nations to qualify than in past editions. Still, many places remain up for grabs.
